Description
Ready-to-wear, circular knitted hosiery for vascular conditions, lymphoedema and oedema. Latex-free.
Indications
Low compression (14–18mmHg): early-onset and mild lymphoedema with minimal or no shape distortion; stable condition; elderly/arthritis patients; pressure-sensitive patients; ISL stages 0–II; maintenance; palliation; lipoedema; controlled cardiac oedema; dependency oedema; neurological deficit; prophylaxis. May be considered for patients with an ABPI of 0.5–0.8 following a full assessment. Prophylaxis. European class 1 (18–21mmHg): early-onset and mild lymphoedema with minimal shape distortion; lipoedema; chronic oedema; stabilised condition; ISL stages 0–II; maintenance; palliation; lipoedema, controlled cardiac oedema, dependency oedema. ABPI >0.8. European class 2 (23–32mmHg): mild to moderate lymphoedema with minimal shape distortion; maintenance after a leg ulcer has healed; lipoedema; long-term maintenance; varicose veins; venous conditions; phlebolymphoedema. European class 3 (34–46mmHg): moderate lymphoedema with no shape distortion; to aid ulcer healing; reduction therapy; varicose veins; venous conditions; ISL stage III; phlebolymphoedema.
Contraindications
Peripheral vascular disease confirmed with an ABPI of <0.8; acute or unstable heart failure; ischaemic heart disease/coronary artery disease; untreated cellulitis or phlebitis of the lower limb. Use with caution in patients with diabetes or rheumatoid arthritis.
