Iodoflex Cadexomer Iodine Dressing

Description

Sterile dark brown paste dressing with a gauze backing on both sides. This consists of cadexomer (modified starch microbeads), polyethylene glycol and iodine. The cadexomer beads are biodegradable. IODOFLEX will remove excess exudate and slough from the wound bed, and reduce bacteria at the wound surface. In doing this, it transforms into a soft moist gel.

Indications

Topical treatment of chronic exuding wounds. Can be used under compression therapy. May be used on infected wounds. Where the product is used on infected wounds the infection should be inspected and treated as per local clinical protocol.

Contraindications

Dry necrotic tissue; sensitivity to iodine or any other components; children; pregnant or lactating women; renal impairment; thyroid disorders (e.g. Hashimoto’s thyroiditis or non-toxic nodular goitre)
