Acticoat Flex 3 Antimicrobial Barrier Dressing

Smith+Nephew

Description

Consists of a flexible, low adherent polyester layer coated with nanocrystalline silver. Highly conformable, following the body contours to maintain contact with the wound surface. The dressings are low adherent, which helps to minimise wound trauma at dressing changes.

Indications

Antimicrobial barrier dressings indicated for use over partial and full thickness wounds such as burns, surgical sites, pressure ulcers, venous ulcers and diabetic ulcers. May be used on infected wounds. Where the product is used on infected wounds the infection should be inspected and treated as per local clinical protocol. May be used as a wound contact layer in combination with Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (NPWT) for up to 3 days. The dressing’s antimicrobial barrier properties remain effective for a minimum of 3 days.

Contraindications

Sensitivity to silver; during magnetic resonance imaging. Remove prior to administering radiation therapy; a new dressing can be applied following each treatment.
