Acticoat 7 Antimicrobial Barrier Dressing

Description

Absorbent antimicrobial barrier dressings consisting of five layers: two layers of absorbent rayon/polyester interleaved between three layers of nanocrystalline silver-coated, low adherent polyethylene net. When wet and used with an appropriate secondary dressing they provide moisture to the wound surface.

Indications

Absorbent antimicrobial barrier dressings indicated for use over partial and full thickness wounds such as pressure ulcers, venous ulcers, diabetic ulcers, burns, and recipient graft sites. May be used on infected wounds. Where the product is used on infected wounds, the infection should be inspected and treated as per local clinical protocol. Should be slit if used as a wound contact layer in combination with Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (NPWT) for a period of up to 3 days.

Contraindications

Sensitivity to silver; during magnetic resonance imaging. Remove prior to administering radiation therapy; a new dressing can be applied following each treatment.
