Contraindications

Duhring's herpetiform dermatitis; pregnancy or breastfeeding; treatment for kidney problems; infants up to 6 months; patients with thyroid disorder who should also not be exposed to iodine as they are more susceptible to alteration in thyroid function; before or after use of radio-iodine until permanent healing has been achieved; on patients who are sensitive to iodine or povidone-iodine
